How to Lower Circuit Board Cost

Here is a case about a subcontractor who put the production price of a circuit board over budget for a systems manufacture. This vendor was an important business partner. Actual fabrication and delivery of the printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) was an attractive deal. But the parts were overpriced. So I started a bidding contest among local branches of national distributors. This campaign produced the most competitive component prices which lowered total cost of the project. The savings was passed onto the systems manufacturer. All circuit board components were procured by the subcontractor.

The systems manufacturer and subcontractor continued doing business on schedule. Complete turnkey operation reduced inventory and provided just in time (JIT) delivery.

$51,605 (15%) annual savings to the systems manufacturer.
